Doomed

The heart lies languid,

stolen of precious moments

when rivers coursed swollen veins

but now congeal with clots of red.

Love and passion lay dormant,

doomed in a useless cavity

where dull thuds were once

boiling beads of molecules.

Time is without guardian,

lapsing to tunes of discovery.

Infatuation in alien arenas

destroys a placid empire.

Beats continue, though aches remain.

Pain envelops the lives they surround.

Fields of tranquility can never exist,

for their souls are pledged to each other.

Superb Symbolism! Keep writing wonderful pieces like this one; if anyone can help me shake my writer's block, you can! (Gotta keep up with that Berube guy!! *grin* )

Seriously, I really like it. I get the impression that you are much more disciplined in exercising your writing chops than I am! MUCH more disciplined!!

Keep it up -- it's working for you, wonderfully!!
