A Little Bit of This and That: A Song

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Sunday, February 5, 2006

A little bit of mind-less squashing,
A little bit of this and that,
A little bit of planes and bombs falling,
Has bitten off my … ass!

Where do you go when following others minds?
Where do you go when trust is a need?
A little bit of politics, and greed, has turned
And bitten off our knees…

A little bit of mind-less knowledge,
A little bit of sought power that’s falling,
A little bit of crematory-weaponed-rice
Has bitten off our face.

Where do I go when wondering?
Where do I go to seek my direction?
A little bit of constant lying has turned,
And bitten off my escape…

A little bit of mind-less hypocrisy,
A little bit of promoted unworth,
A little bit of a lot of propaganda, falling,
Has bitten through our truths.

Where can you turn to round the corner?
Where do we home our inner souls?
All the little bits are supposed to be completed,
And 'bitten' into new shapes…

A little bit of mindful self-flushing,
A little bit of new Thought to center All.
A little bit of fruitful plains and psalms falling,
Will rewrite us, and ‘everybody else’.

A little bit... a little bit... comes around to a lot, doesn't it? Oops, didn't mean that rhyme!! You have written plenty of food for thought, but alas, only those who want to change things and make them better will probably read and ponder. Wonderful write, Erin!

this was a whimsical foray away from your usual style, but i found myself smiling as you questioned the very foundation of our assumptions. the things we take for granted usually comfort us, that's what they're there for. but when you did a little bit deeper, as you did with this patient and yet paradigm-shifting write, the true reality is revealed. write on, soul sister...

EEKM,

You have woven (with such delightful mischief) a powerful statement about our collective demise. Such talented hands.....

I too question where to go Erin! Of course my ultimate answer is steadfast in Creator, but we have free will and make choices so we are supposed to find answers, for our problems. We are doing a lousy job of it, no single person or group to blame, all of humanity has to account for it! Well done Erin!

Interesting and good questions. When you find the answers call me because I and everyone else need to know. I think you have hit on the reason life is so complex and confussing.

Well written verse.

I am in awe of your powerful words, Erin; you are spot on in this song. The ending--yes. BRILLIANT writing! Thank you, dear.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Someone said that once you open a can of worms, you can never get those worms to go back into the can. There are a lot of followers in the world who never question or challenge. I hope your voice reaches a few. This is thoughtful work.
