The time went so quickly
(today I feel so sickly!)
I wasn’t even aware
(I need fresh air!)
I lost count of the how many
(I wish I hadn’t had any!)
Beers I had throughout
(What a drinking bout!) 
Last night's merriment
(I used such poor judgment!)
From cocktail hour until
(Is there a hangover pill?)
we closed down the bar
(what was in that mason jar?)
Yet I made it to my job
(oh my head does throb!)
just before the clock struck eight
(where’s the bathroom, can’t wait!)
And I sit here at my desk
(feeling grotesque!)
Filing, typing, talking
(sure beats walking!)
Awaiting the end of the day
(I’ll not do that again, no way!)
I think I heard a plan
(everyone’s going in the van!)
I should really go home …
(I can just see the foam …)
I’m absolutely sincere
(Maybe just one beer … )
I’m going to get in my car
(and meet them all at the bar!)
