SANDS OF TIME BLUES song lyrics
by Joel Sattler

I sit by
and realize
the sands of time
pass for my eyes
they slip through your fingers
slip through the glass
and for you know it
the future is past
you take love for granted
until it is gone
and still the sands of time
roll on

I thought that I knew
much more than I know
and learned me a lesson
when she had to go
just one last goodbye
but I didn't know yet
that was all I deserved
and was all I did get
you don't know you're lucky
till your luck is all gone
and the sands of time
move on

but I aint dead yet
no matter I feel
still got a chance
still got one last deal
and this time I'll play
my cards close to my chest
and I'll try to win
or at least do my best
but I'll bet it all
and I bet I do fine
til I am buried
under the sands of time

This one is great until the last three or four lines where you try to cram and ending on to it rather than finish out the way you had been going. And I think you wrote: "And [be] for you know it."
