last night I saw the Angel of Death
walking toward me in a dream
he raised his scythe as if to reap
my head before I screamed

he said "Don't be afraid of me.

I fell a thousand miles or more
into the fiery Hell
and then I rose into the sky
and heard the mission bell

St. Peter waited at the gate
and gave the rainbow sign
he handed me a ticket and
told me to wait in line

I waited an eternity
and finally saw the Man
He looked at me so curiously

I even lost track of my name.
The phone began to ring

I woke up from a full dark sleep
and dizzy in the head
a voice came to me on the line
and asked if I were dead

"I don't think so," I heard myself
as if the mirror saw me
I said "Who the heck is this
and why the Hell'd you call me?"

the voice said "I'm so sorry that
I have disturbed your slumber.
I guess somehow the Devil must
have give me the wrong number."
