THE WILD HUNT lyrics
by JOEL SATTLER

I was walking in the woods
when the wild hunt passed me by
and by the time I caught up to them
they were sitting round the fire

I recognized the Valkyries
and the Golden Hoarde of Khan
and I asked if I could join them
on the high road they were on

their leader said to join the hunt
first thing you do is die
and then when you're turned back at the Gate
you'll be allowed to ride

Ghost riders of the Wild Hunt
are stuck tween heaven and hell
and we must ride the endless night
until the final bell

the wild hunt the wild hunt the wild hunt evermore
the riders of the wild hunt are four and seven score
like the kings who fell in the ancient Irish tale
by the hand of Cuchulain beyond sunset we shall sail

when I was a child we had a vicious horse
a biter and a stamper
who never could be forced
and there he stood right by my side
rearing up and so
ready to take on the Devil himself
ready to gallup and go
the color of night
the sound of fright
eyes of bloody red and white

we rode all night and into day
we killed whatever we saw
we were bravest of the brave
we were beyond the law

and I could feel my soul
dissolve into the infinite stars
we had no guide to map our ride
no god not even planet Mars

So if you're in the mountains
and the wild hunt passes you by
just let it go, I tell you true
or there'll be nothing left of you
