more in keeping with the "spirit of the holidays" then we like to admit
fancy passing
winter’s wind swept the town today
brooming the last of summer’s glory
into the fence corners and hedge rows
what summer fancied winter has deposed
leaving only died leaves and vague longings
for summer’s jalapeno passions
winter’s broom has swept my heart
as well, leaving piles of spent dust
in place of the healthy passions of
seasons past that which is
past is past and what is gone is gone
unlikely to return or flare again
where once the vital flame was set
burns the cold drear fire of regret
For the past two years (2006-2008) The Bridge of Silver Wings has earned a name for itself both as a series of poems published in different e-zines and as a book first published in 2007.
What makes this 2009 edition a special one is th
Pain so deep
So bittersweet
I am starting to forget
The meaning
Of regret!!
Merry Christmas John!!
