I sent my sorrows

On the wings of a sparrow
So she may fly them away from me
To the never arrival of tomorrow.

Last night I couldn’t sleep

Didn’t occur to me

To count any sheep

So I sat there

In the darkness of my room

Waiting for tomorrow.

The shadows

soon turned gray

The arrived

Bright sun’s rays

Pilfered the gray gloom

Out of my room.

Now its today

On my bed I still lay

Waiting for that tomorrow

which never came.

So true. But when there is sorrow and darkness, with the light a new dawn comes, sometimes so unexpectantly. Your poetry is awakening my friend. Greet it and share!

So somber and melancholy. Horrid days when we can't sleep and then the next day still ache to do so to "catch up" as it were, then it is yet another night and eve.

I hope you were talking about insomnia, which seems to grab us after 40.

Enjoyed, ~D.

As the sparrow sheds its feather to make space for a new one, so you must shed your sorrow...one feather at a time...or one poem at a time.
This expressive poem the beginning.

Contentment and Happiness on the morrow for you William.

No more sorrows, William, embrace today and hold hope in your heart for tomorrow...there is always another tomorrow. I believe that things come to us when the time is right and often that seems to be when we have already given up on waiting for them to occur. I hope happiness knocks upon your door today and you do not hesitate to welcome it in. Beautiful poem.
Take care,
Sherry
