A Day’s Event

Diamonds sparkle

In a woman’s dream

Like stars in dark velvet heavens

She visions in sensuous nights

Holding back in silence

Passionate screams.

The orange glow

Reaching

From its place of birth

Promising beauties within

Dawn’s sunrise

Over powering darkness

In its invasion.

Rays of light bring

Thirst

To the lovely blossoming Rose

She suckles the mornings

Crystal dew drops

Resting on the softness

Of silky soft petals.

Dry petals gently swirl

To their destination

Covering the ground

Without making a sound

Even when admirers

Are not around.

Bees fly from flower to flower

Butterflies sip nectar

From wild Irises and Lilies

Of the fields

Fulfilling Nature’s needs

Renewing and rejuvenating.

The setting sun

Displays the main event

Slowly sizzling

Into the western waters

Of the awaiting dusk.

Nature recycles

The oncoming beauty

Of nights velvet skies

Closing another day

Into the moments

When time becomes a memory

In the era of yesterdays.

"The oncoming beauty of night's velvet skies. . ." I have to get out to the country here in the Ozarks to really see the sky. Lovely, William! I will keep this near me in the flash and razzle dazzle of LA when I leave the Ozarks next week. Very nice work.

D'Artagnan, "...dry petals gently swirl to their destination..." how a delicate and sensual thought it is, which any reader will go over without a second glance missing a whole world described just with those words. Sadly all will become memories of yesterday, but those memories will go inside forever.

What did I get out of this Day's Event. You love nature and your life and living. Sunsets mean the close of day and waiting for tomorrow's dawn. Don't look back to yesterday, it is gone forever, but memories stay in our minds and we do go back to the past sometimes. Nothing hurtful in that. Liked this write. Very good.
