And You Are? Who are you? Why can’t I visualize you In my dreams Why is my heart’s aching And your eyes, I’ve not Stared within to yet To fine my soul within them. When you scribe On parchment So I may read It’s like If you were speaking To me in silent words A voice unheard What I read is felt deep Within my heart and soul. If you are not here Within my tangible reach Then I must send you My desire dreams In whispers Carried by wild zephyrs To wherever your soul resides Where my heart is held hostage While apart Or without contact I am unable to function My thoughts unfocused My tears at the edge Of infinity My sanity at a razor’s edge My love for you Is all I possess. The elusive love, and don't we all believe that we can inject ourselves into their thoughts. We go between being able to touch their soul and believing that they don't even know we exist. Isn't it rich when we feel such a strong connection to someone and yet we never seem to be able to bridge the gap between them and us. Sigh!!! The seeds from which poetry grows. This offering is easy to identify with, William. Enjoyed the read.
