Exiting an elevator,
I saw, what the future,
For me, held in store,
Rows, of what were once,
Active, everyday folks.
Reduced, to wheel chair bound,
Mumbling, incoherently,
Staring into infinity,
Unaware, of their about.
Nor who, presently claims,
Caring for them,
I won't name, the institution,
For they are all, equally alike.
Chambers of lost, wonderful memories,
Archives, of passions long forgotten,
A waiting room, for what's to come,
As the "Reaper", sharpens,
His swing blade.
