Here! Is where I was born, In mid may, Before the sunrise, Becoming a gleam, In my parent's eyes. Here! is where I grew up, Was educated, made friends, Before a war appeared, In the horizon, To serve my country, I volunteered. Here! Is where I met and married her, Raised tree children, And still, she's in my arms. Here! Is where I swore, to uphold the Law, After twenty years, Retired with dignity and integrity, From the NYPD. Here! Is where my heart breaks, As I endure insults, Beacuse of my race, By Late coming bigots, Into, these U S of A. Here! This is my country, You'll not break my bones, With your hatred words, With sticks nor threatening stones. By: William Bonilla......3/16/03
