Arrival Of Spring

Is it Spring?
When the warm,
Morning sun rays,
Caress your face, like a halo,
The chill wind, gently blowing,
Cools your soul,
Keeping you alert,
Of the surroundings, before you,
The birds serenading,
The Arrival Of Spring,
With energetic chirping,
That will linger, in your memories,
Of a wonderful day.

Young couples, holding hands,
Gleaming smiles of happiness,
Twinkling stars,
Within soulful eyes,
Soft gentle whispers,
Of "I Love You,"
As the greet me,
With a wonderful smile,
Knowing on this bench,
I've been sitting, for a while,
Oh! How I remember,
Those unforettable days,
Of my youthful ways,
Trying to impress you,
With my athletic sway,
As I discarded my shirt,
Strutting like a rooster,
Walking the walk.

I wish I could write like that. I have only written 1 or 2 poems in all of my 36 years that were positively inspiring. You write about the sun and I write about the moon...me entiendes mi hermano boricua! My sister was a police officer in newark and I have a cousin who lives in Paterson,NJ who is also an officer of the law. I respect you man, it's a hard and peligroso job. My hats of to ya! In Puerto Rico I have 3 family members that are officers of the law. My uncle is a famous guitarita in Boriquen, his mname is MIllito Cruz and my deceased Dad penned the popular song done by 'El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, his name was Pillito Cruz. Peace.

Yes...Spring has come with all her finery. Aromas and colors and feathers all fluffed, dew upon flora and the creatures strutting their mating play...even in us humans. Spring...the robust passion of the year.
Love your poetry.
Peace and harmony,
Susan

If you don't like the weather... wait five minutes and it'll change. We were in the 70's yesterday and in the 50's today with 40+ MPH wind gusts. From shorts to sweaters. Well written work!
