Unrequited love, both yearning,
feeling the same desire;
wandering alone, the same city streets
with a longing that cannot be
denied nor forgotten.
There will be no peace for either
as long as they wander alone -
yet together in heart.
So close, yet a million miles
away as the yearning grows;
Longing weeps her tears for his sorrow -
Sorrow yearning for the love
she holds, though terrified to just let go he makes excuses for his fear...
And, as he cries a million tears,
there is no love to hold him,
no caring to console him;
and still, he makes excuses for his fear...
As the days go by and each turns
into years behind ~ there is naught
to teach him how to be warm, no one
stands beside him through the storm of
his sorrowful yesterdays.
Soon, too many yesterdays will have
gone by, too many tears will have
been cried into the veil of what
beauty he could see...just open your
eyes my dear, dear angel -
Just open your eyes, look at me.
