I was off today and watched Camelot on my DVD. I began to wonder with my creative side and shoot holes in the mystique of yesterday's passion rituals. This is my side of the fairy tales of yore and the play that was offered during those humid afternoons.

Once upon a Fairy Tale when maidens with long hair
Let it down for valor's fool who didn't really care
For what his friends would dare to think or even less to prove
As mindless notions quickly came as boldly he'd persue
The maiden with the moonlit eyes and stars made for this rube
With limpid glands that spoke in tights from every tuck and groove
She'd purr to him in moments while his fingers, scarred and bent
Grasped the edge of sanity while his passions proudly spent
Themselves upon the ivyed walls as per custom for the male
To leave a trail of silver prints... liken to the snail
Footprints of a love made quick and gushed upon the bricks
For mindless lust for fools who dared and maidens with their tricks
To woo the suitor's hand with wiles that caused so much dismay
With love that spent itself up high with lust just for a day
Gone as she mocked his play and turned his smile to tears
Back in the days of valor with laughter from these dear
Women of the Roundtable ... their Camelots of Haste
And playing men in those days when love was gone to waste
When men were fooled into this game...when passion laughed and felt
The playful tease of those that wore
a rusted chastity belt.
