WARNING--This prose contains misery.
-------------------------------------

Essentially sadness is creeping back into my world

For some reason of which I do not know why, the Christmas season brings sadness

I have read depression runs rampant during the holy season

Last year on Christmas Eve I had a heart attack passed out and broke my ankle

I think the memories of childhood and the ridiculous Santa Claus falsehood is the culprit

I have someplace to go this year but I am not enthusiastic about it
But I am also tired of the woe is me syndrome

At least my son will be with me

My daughter lives in The Netherlands, only GOD knows if I will ever be with her again

I have already started wishing Christians a happy holy day

But the loneliness without Beverly has reared it's head looking in my direction

Death for me by my own hand is not the answer

Logically speaking every one dies sooner or later

Dearest Tony,

Your pain is real, thank you for sharing. Depression is a blood sucking leech which will ride the back of its victims for as long as it can hold on.

The internet does not always feel real because we plug it, log it and curse at it when it doesn't work right for us but the people who are on the net..., they are very real. It is clear you have a large following of friends, including myself, who are sending you lots of love, support and hugs..., that is real, as well.

Hang in there and remember, you are not alone. Today and throughout eternity, I pray for you to find what will carry you through your days in a much better light..., hope. As a cancer survivor, I know all about hope. Faith, hope and love are why I am still here.

God bless you, lift you and carry you through these troubled times. Remember, this too shall pass.

Lots of love and hugs,

Mindy May

Strength be yours this season, Tony. We all die in many ways every day, but the key is to find ways to resurrect with renewed vigor and enthusiasm for all that yet lives. I sense Beverly lives on in ways you have only begun to realize. Cherish all she continues to be with every breath. I hope there is more than mere solace in these words, and that they combine with encouragement others give you to breath renewed life into your downcast soul. Peace, my friend.

my heart grieves for you Tony
aside from holidays...everyday
yes everyday is precious,
but only through JOY!!
If we don;t know the elements of JOY
we surely cannot survive can we?
I sure hope your stress level this season
and everyday afterwards can find some comforts
and a loving embrace to warm you into the essence
of Joy...a humble heart you are

Through Love's Tender Embrace
May Your Spirit Rise To Elevate You
Love Always

Tony, I so feel your pain my friend. I had to tell my 8 year old that there wouldn't be much under the tree. He said he has been good and Santa will get his gifts! Christmas is very sad for me too as I found my dad dead a few years ago and the vision haunts me everyday! It is difficult when you miss a loved one! I am happy you will get to be with your son this year. Just take each day at a time and you will feel love, and happiness again! Big Christmas hug from me to you!! Love always, Chessly

I can identify with you Tony. I had a heart attack at the age of forty. After that it has been one thing after another but I will not give into depreciation. I fell that way once and found it to be a deep hole to fall into. I took my problems Christ. He is my best friend. You try it and most importantly live for today and each day that comes. Give my best to your daughter and I will keep you in my prayers.
God bless and do try to have a Merry CHRISTmas.

Tony,

I too get depressed during the Christmas holidays. There's so much commericalism and not enough thought to the REAL reason of Christmas. I have grandchildren and I try to put on a front for them, but inside I'm hurting. Keep the FAITH, my friend. We will get thru this. Jesus is by our side all the way.

Many blessings an love,
~Linda

Hang in there, Tony. With my surgery coming up in the morning, two of my children who never think to visit or even call and Christmas next Saturday, I know just where you're coming from, my friend. Folks like you and I need to be tough and simply try to go with the flow.

True some seasons do not sit well with everyone and loved ones who are far away can tug at your heart strings. Hang in there. God bless you.
