Love and Passion. One should know the difference.

As I was typing a message to a friend
I saw someone approaching me.
She was Deqa, my former girlfriend
Her eyes were pregnant with tears
She came back to sort out differences
But it was too late to patch them up
She left me when I was mad with love
and returned when things fell apart
But Deqa insisted to resume relations
I was so adamant to do so because
Duniya filled the space she belonged in my heart
Much to her chagrin Deqa cried

I said "Little girl, you are late
you ran away with a stranger
He took you to heights of passion
but dropped you to the depths of deception.
Now you come back to me crying
You complain, you tell stories
I don't think I can help, Deqa
I have Duniya with me now
She stitched the cracks in my heart
She put it back into action
She made it function again
but not for anybody else
Just for me and herself alone
You have a place in my head
But not in my heart
I can wipe out your tears
but not able to give you a kiss.
Sorry Deqa, you are too late".

There is a vast difference between love and passion - well penned, Abdi-Noor, and a fate that has befallen many.

Sad write. Many live their lives being "too late" over and over again.
