In a talk I had with a teenage girl
I was amazed by her deep asirations
She was thinking of becoming a doctor
She wanted to be a graduate with honors
She wanted to build life with love
She wanted to raise a family
She impressed me with her deep insight
Then I met with a boy of her age
I asked what he intended to do in life
He mentioned nothing more than football
He still hanged on his mother's apron
He had no vision beyond childish desires
He fell short of my expectations
Then I expnaded my exercise to another group
I explored the minds of old people
An eighy year-old man became my subject
I asked what hopes did he have in life
He instead spoke of his accomplishments
He was more than happy to talk to me
He told stories with fine articulation
Then I went to his age-mate, a woman
I put her same question as I did to him
She found it hard to explain everything
Looking back was no easy job for her
She aimed high but achieved little
The forces of culture pulled her down
My final conclusion shows grim results
Women have more dreams than opportunities
Men have more opportunities than dreams
I shuttled between Mars and Venus
I reached heights of gender injustice
this is the world we live in, i wonder sometimes, is it changing? can it change? are the things we find important indicative of deeper differences between us, or just a result of the cultures we find ourselves in. interesting scientific experiment, with even more interesting results.
A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
A page-turning novel about a relationship between best friends that is interrupted because of betrayal , deceit, sexual promiscuity and pregnancy happens!
thank you, sir, for speaking out for all women, many of which are not at liberty to raise their own voice. perhaps this will change--i pray so
