When you can't live in love
When you can't live with love
When you can't leave your love
Where are you going to live?
I heard a loud shout last night
It came in the direction of M/East
It was love shouting for love
It was love running short of love
It was love unable to live with love
It was love disturbed by unloving love
It was love obsessed with love decisions
Love has at last come to terms with love
I saw it ROMANCING with its partner
The two were long engaged in secret affair
Time has now come to officiate marriage
At Hotel DISENGAGEMENT in the Gaza strip
A beautiful gathering took place
War and Peace were married together
They were declared as husband and wife
Two settlers were brought as a witness
They were weeping with the pain of love
How long will this marriage hold?
A day? a year? or a century?
I don't know
The imagery of war and peace in love is a masterful perception Abdi Noor, because it is so akin to the duality of all creation. It is imprinted within our very nature to both love and hate with every emotion in between. Great poem, my friend!

Eileen

Brother Abdi you have written so eloquently about a situation that should be on the mind of all and that is the marriage of war and peace. Peace, love, and blessings. Mikii
Excellent job Abdi-Noor. I have been surprised at how peaceful the clearing of Gaza has been, I feared an all out war in removing the settlers, but it has been relatively non-violent. War and Peace married together...what a metaphor! I guess that is how life is for the most part anyway. Perhaps they will give birth to Love and Harmony with a generation that will teach us how to find the middle ground.
Take care,
Sherry

How long will this union hold? I don't know, either. It's on shaky ground as it is now...
An excellent, thought provoking piece; may all of our nations find peace and hold its preciousness near to our hearts!
Continued prayers, (((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
Enjoyed the read and metaphors

A very good question, Abdi-Noor. And I hope peace gets the chance it deserves.
