Three gunmen carjacked a bus and while rumbling the loot left behind by passengers,they noticed the presence of a blind girl who was unfortunately unable to disembark at the time of the carjacking. High with drugs and narcotic stimulants they raped the young blind girl and threw her away in the bush after finishing with her. Out of instinct she found the way back to where the carjacking has happened and from there she caught another bus to get back home. If injustice is the only justice a country has, crime is a badge of honor evil people wear in public. This is a story on which my upcoming documentary is based.
Out from the woods
Just behind the hills
Carjackers appeared
Into the bus window
A ricocheting bullet
Shattered the glasses
Blood split in gallons
As driver bled to death
Journey ended in tragedy
Shocked and traumatized
Passengers ran for safety
They squeezed in the door
All but a blind girl
Made a swift get off
And melted in the bush
But Leyla remained behind
Only to be discovered lately
And raped by the gunmen
Though having no eyes
She has eyes in the heart
And sees what happened to her
As vividly as you read this write

This one hurts, deeply. Bad enough to rape a woman in the first place, but a child, a disabled child? Bastards. Makes me sick...thank you for being another voice in her corner, I stand with you to say, "Enough is ENOUGH." Excellent write, a clarion call to action.
Very sad story brother. The rapists have no eyes in their hearts. There is immediate need to get rid of them. The blind girl was determined to go back home and she made it happen. She is an excellent example for those of us who want to change the state of affairs in Somalia. We need to act immediately inorder to stop this kind of abuse.
