Dedicated to the 15th Somali reconciliation conference expected to be held in Mogadishu tomorrow. 14 previous reconciliation conferences went to the peaks of the sharp rocks of political reality.
In the mirror of peace love is the image
Mirrors of anarchy reflect images of strife
No matter how many times you reconcile
You end up in conflict if a war mirror
Is already fixed in your unstable minds
Come to the conference with clean hearts
Unsoiled by clan sentiments and tribal revenge
The mirror of peace seems to be shattered as this world nears the pinnacle of violent fragmentation. The bloodshed talons of corporate criminal organizations pierce deep into the poisoned flesh of humanity that wears a title it does not deserve in any way. The agony of spirits trying to live a non-demanding life in war struck areas breaks my heart and enrages me. There are barely any stable minds left in areas of peace. The still functioning brains are blackmailed in to becoming accomplice of the system. Destruction occurs in all the wrong places and hopes in other places is directed at situations I dread to think about. But it is an inevitable act. One I recognized in this poem too. If answers cannot continue to drown in endless pools of blood, then perhaps the questions are no good. Thank you for creating and sharing.
Peace needs to take strategic positions in the heart and mind of every Somali. Personal and tribal interests are obstacles to peace.
