These are the cries of a Somali woman at the somali border with Kenya who was denied entry after the Kenyan government gave instructions to halt fleeing Somalis at the border. 17 years ago when such a war took place in Somalia the Kenyan government was kind enough to allow somalis to get into its country as refugees.

I thought It would be wise to flee to Kenya
But I found its border with Somalia closed

Thousands are stranded in the Kenya border
As winds of fear blow amid shadows of pain

Life is posing more trepidation than death
As to live is more worrisome than to pass on

A grisly humanitarian crisis is in the making
As children are taking their last breath to exit

May the Kenyan authorities show any concern
Much as they did in the early years of the war
