American planes have bombed Somali town of Dhusamareb killing top Islamic leaders linked to alqaeda terror network. The air strikes come at a time when reconciliation was about to take place between the various factions contesting for power in Somalia. These killings could cause some set back to the reconciliation process as those who have lost their men in the attack might change their position to enter dialogue with other groups being supported by the US. But from the other side of the coin, the attacks can work in a positive way by bringing the insurgents to their knees once they have lost some top leaders,
In pursuance of top Islamist rebels
Uncle Sam is visiting us these days
More often now than ever before
With a mission to hunt jihadists
Striking them with deadly rockets
Pounding them in their hideouts
Is this a burst of a terror bubble
Or is it the rise of more unburstable bubbles?
Is this a mortal blow to the insurgents
Or an extension of the war project in Somalia?
Time will tell
Abdi, have you known through the history of man, any extremist that want to participate in a dialogue if it doesn't conduct directly to attain his own goals?

As an American, I cringed when I heard the news - all I can say is I hope your family is safe - you and they are in my prayers - all I can ask is that our people are not judged for the actions of some. Just like we Americans have passed judgement on the Muslim people - the actions of one do not have to condemn the whole race or religion. There are many who do not agree with the extremists, in either of our people - Peace begins within each of us; it begins with me. So sorry this has happened - is happening - God have mercy on us all.
