The Ethiopian Army invaded Somalia two years ago and routed the Islamists in just two weeks. Now after two years they decided to pullout at a time when insurgency is at its highest peak. The two factions do not want to close the war chapter in Somalia because their story will close up too if the Somalia war comes to an end.
They are sworn enemies to each other
Each one plots the other in the dark
But no one wants the other to exit
Each one wants to eliminate the other
But without one the other can´t exist
In the shallow river of war on terror
They both wield swords to fight a war
But no one is so precise in his attack
Above the water they shoot each other
But under the water they create each other
How I wish and pray that this conflict (and all others throughout this planet in chaos) would come to an end. Thank you, Abdi-Noor. Love and peace to you,

Abdi-Noor, this is now my favorite poem of yours. What you express is the heart of political conflict everywhere. It is an ideological law: An ideology depends, for its very existence, on keeping its opposition alive and well. Thus the conflict (and the "enemy")is necessary in order to keep the ideology empowered. You should bring this poem to The Writing Forum :-)
