The negative part of Somali culture is fast eroding in Europe as tribe is caught up in a trap of modernization thus creating a siutation where somalis have to associate with others regardless of tribe. Besides that, Somali children who are born in the Diaspora know nothing about tribe. they are tribal-blind. The tribal virus will not pass to the coming generations which is really very good. I seldom ask myself if migration is a blessing for the warring Somalis. I think it is, but not in the short run. We are suffering from the effects of disintegration and state failure as we are still disturbed by clan divisions. But in the long run when the next Somali generations replace us they will not send money back home to finance war in an effort to settle a score with their Somali brethren on tribal basis. Here I can say every cloud has a silver linen.
