Sometimes I wonder to myself
why don’t I write anymore
and truthfully, I write volumes
just none of it is poetry
or at least, not the kind for public viewing
I mean seriously, who would want to read
about my boring repetitive life
of work, frustration and endless
travels?

I guess I could write about having
the stomach flu over Christmas
but then half the country profusely puked
and crapped their guts out that week
Besides, who the hell wants to remember
THAT?!

I could write about a broken heart
but mine isn’t broken

Or I could write about love
hmmmmm...nope,
that’s the one not for public viewing

So I’ll just write about nothing
while I wait for my midnight flight
home.

Oh Sara, try to see it positively. Is there a better diet than having a stomach flu over Christmas? I am still struggling with my extra pounds I gained.

Your writing about "nothing" expresses a great deal, Sara. Best wishes of love and peace to you,

I just write whenever the inspiration strikes, be that in form of poetry or not.

It might be boring, but that's honesty, and that's my life. I write because I want to write, because I think it is time for me to write, and I think it's what I want to write.

If that does not give me audience, the least I can have are the memories I write into my writings, and that alone is precious enough for me to keep on writing.

I wonder if this applies to the way you percieve about your own writings as well.

Sara, this is a good thought-provoking piece!

Good to read you again....thought you vanished from this planet....lol!!

Have a safe trip!!

Poetry is in the eyes of the beholder. I would have liked to come up with something original here, but my brain is not cooking on full throttle just yet, the caffeine hasn't taken hold. We write what we write, boring to some, obnoxious to others, a balm for the soul for a few.

ahhh Sara you may think your life is boring but so do millions of others in this life and one's gone past, I suppose Leonardo at one point must have even considered lying on his back paintings ceilings day after day mundane as well but where would we be without his boring life. Nice poem here but I prefer to look at the half full side of it and all the great pieces you submit.

That's the reason I'm not good at writing letters. I fell my life is too boring to be of interest. Hey, it even bores me when I think about it. The muses will return, all we can do is wait for them.

No writer writes about nothing. . .if that was true your page here would be blank. Love your wordsmithing talent. . . .and embrace it just for what it is. . . . for it's all yours.
