jackals on a carrion high

Poem Artwork

jackals circle on a carrion high

divisive blood dripping down their jowls

as flooded chasms drawn in the sand

drown out a cacophony of abuse

march goodly soldier

march now to my beat

for the side i am on does not reveal in its privacy

my life is not open to interpretation

i am who i am

and i choose who i speak to

and i choose when not to

i choose who i trust

and those i do not trust

you who stabs in the dark

diguised by the light

listen to my voice carefully

for you will hear no cowardice squeak out of me

i who stands tall on my stand

reveal my side

i am the side with what is right

i am not with the conniving

and the treacherous

i am the side with honesty

the side of purity

the side of love

i am the side of the hard working

the sane

i am the side of integrity

in an incongruous world

i spit in the eyes of the damning

to hell with you all

those dressed in anagrams

and epigrams

to hell with you

to hell with those i cared for

This is something new(to me anyway). It's like traveling a peaceful meadow and suddenly coming upon a forbidding tower bristling with archers. I'd hate to be the one there looking out for!

Supergirl, you could have called it "Jackals On A Feeding Frenzy," or many other things and it would have been the same. It would seem that many of the Jackals here at AD are on a feeding frenzy, but they are -
in the final analysis - only devouring themselves and burning the bridges behind
them. (And they know that) But life goes on and you are strong and don't need to involve yourself inthis. Just write your beautiful poetry and move on. Bill Murray
