My best friend and fiance, Paul, his dad passed away yesterday. This piece was written in his memory.

I wonder if God has forgotten me
I’ve lived a long and full life
There has been so much purpose and meaning
With very little turmoil and strife


I wonder if God has forgotten me
My children are grown and gone
I missed so much of their childhood
And the time between visits to long


I wonder if God has forgotten me
The phone calls are just not the same
As the looks on your face and the hugs that you give
There is no one to blame


I wonder if God has forgotten me
Each step getting shorter I fear
Resting much longer, and remembering
Our time together; so dear


I wonder if God has forgotten me
He has filled me with so much love
From the day you were born to the end of all time
You were sent from God above



I wonder if God has forgotten me
When will it be time to go home?
This body is tired and frail now
With little strength left to roam


I wonder if God has forgotten me
It’s almost time to sleep
Remember me with laughter
Dry your eyes; do not weep


I know God hasn’t forgotten me
Because, He has now called me home
Just know each time you look to the stars
My love for you still shows


Yes, my child, God remembered me
There is no pain up here
I will always be watching over you
Because, I love you all so dear.
