Poem Artwork

"O Lord, O, my master,
at the dawn of civilization
they sharpened spears of stone.
Today, the rocket reaches
beyond the Moon,
but they sharpen the heart
with the bullets wound.

Ah! And yet they call this
a progress- but progress
at what cost, as the world
has always been ripped
and torn into pieces
by the hi-tech dogs of war.

O Lord, O, my master
listen , listen to the
salutation of their guns,
with which it shatters
the core of the Earth.

Ah! And yet they modify
these guns on and on, and
do nothing concrete to
save those pristine souls
sandwiched in between
the vicious circle – of hunger
and poverty, all around the world.

O Lord, O, my master,
Ah! We have limited
our capabilities
in building the weapons
of destruction only.
We are selfish,
we hear, but we pretend
not to hear, the grinding
sound of their bones.

We spit all
that is worth drinking
And drink all
that is worth spitting
And in our hallucination,
we ask God,
“Who has found what for eternity?”

Ah! It is for you, children,
to judge or to condemn
our progresses as you wish.

But, take our advice
- “Please redefine human progress,”

Then define life,
Then define freedom of existence.

Then the, hi –tech weapons of war.

Many become wifeless, husbandless,
parentless, childless, and friendless
because of these hi- tech weapons of war.

Ah! And yet they call this
a progress- but progress
at what cost, as the world
has always been ripped
and torn into pieces
by the hi-tech dogs of war.

Progress in power. As long as man seeks power over his fellow man , he will refine and unleash his dogs of war.

So true Bhuwan my friend. Weapons have been/are a scourge upon this gift of a world we were given. Sad. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

my friend, there is so much truth in this piece of yours...unfortunatly so. It would be grand if we could channel the same creative energies used for developing new ways to kill...into new ways to heal.
Powerful and excellent piece.
