I couldn’t serve though I tried.
You took my place and you died.
How I cried ….
Your laughter rings in my ears,
we had been friends many year.
Tore me inside ….
Put our country before self.
Now a picture on the shelf
makes tears fall.
All give … but some give it all.
Losing family, friends … bawl
till tears stall.
Many tears fell, I gave up
couldn’t run nor take step
… feared the call.
And … when it came …fell apart--
you took a piece of my heart.
Gave it all!
I couldn’t serve though I tried.
You took my place and you died.
How I cried ….
Why did you leave me alone?
The decision was your own …
tore me inside.
