Home is where the heart is
whenever we may roam.
It’s where dreams await us
seeking reality.
Warm hearths crackle ablaze,
ample pots sizzle with food,
loving eyes gaze softly,
the home cleanses one’s mood.
Home is where the stars shine--
dangling ornamental--
reflecting in loves’ eyes.
Toss your boots and spurs off,
the dust will fall away.
It may be a shanty,
but that’s not what you’ll see.
Home is a man’s heaven
for all eternity.
Home is where our dreams lay
on top or in the ground.
Ashes strewn or buried
amongst gunslingers whirl
romancing the wild west
over desert and plains.
Our hearts are with loved ones
home for infinity.
