Icicled Mem'ries

We all have secrets or skeletons in our closets. Some go with us to our graves, but why? Wouldn't someone learn something from our experiences?
*****************************

Shimmering,
glimmering,
dazzling,
icicled mem’ries
swirl, muddled in puddles,
rippling,
ne’er-ending,
reflecting,
some strangers we once knew;
one is me … one is you.

Truth be told,
lies are old,
bodies cold,
icicled mem’ries
hold no power, I’m free
if I speak
with a squeak
let me peep …
lies begat lies, unease
this new freedow I seize

Splattering,
shattering,
scattering,
icicled memories
ne’er to be recalled, shared,
mockery,
humanity,
insanity,
aged, grew old pretending
with our mem’ries bending

Once revealed,
unravel,
forgiven,
icicled mem’ries
seep deeply … release me.

I agree with you, Sandra: it's the "ground glass" about which we are willing to speak that helps others currently suffering. This poem is very well crafted, flows so well and presents a great message. ~~BonnieQ
