I recall when I first wrote this..I wanted it to fall, symbolically of course, get it over and done with. Now it's over and done with!!

The Dagger O'er my head

By Ch'erie

It hangs over my head
suspended by an invisible thread
sharp as a samurai sword
poignant in it's slant
leaves one wondering when
it will finally plunge
piercing the depths
of my very soul

Till then it just shimmers in the shadows
the Dagger o'er my head..

Go ahead, just drop!

Oooo... Fascinating! Not sure whether it's desperation, anticipation or admiration expressed here, but love the directness of the write and the surgical execution of description. Clear-sighted as well as haunt(ed)(ing). :)) xx

Ch'erie, an interesting perspective, but be careful what you wish for, you may get it! I enjoyed this viewpoint very much.

Maybe it is time to sit back and hire someone to do your work Ch'erie afterall we don't want you to seriously hurt yourself, protect those fingers so we can continue to hear from you. Thank you for sharing.

Well I've been inflicting pain upon myself outside in that darn garden again..puntured a finger, scratched myself and got bitten by skeeters, till I grabbed a bit of aloe and rubbed it on the bites. Found broken beer bottles, could of stepped on them and slashed my hand...that young prawn across the road who was having parties must of slung a couple into our garden...Hmmmmm His entrails will become his extrails, Pain, PAIN PAIN if he does it again. I expect a bit better from this neighbourhood, and I let his mother know ever so subtley today LOL..... Ah never mind me, just worn out, better leave off the garden for a few days...
:) but it keeps my mind off things, you know!

Listen my little Cherry Pie, you better either move aside or find yourself a steel umbrella, we don't need anything happening to our poetess from down under but I can feel this way sometimes myself.
