Twas the Night before Christmas
By Ch'erie
Twas the Night Before Christmas
and all through the house
Everyone was starving
including the mouse
The cupboards we bare
and so even the weevils
were planning to jump ship
like evil K Nevils
Mother was desperate
how would she feed her large brood
Father sat helpless
in the foulest mood
Desperate times,
call for a desperate measure
This was one of those times
it would be a great pleasure
It had come to her notice
in the bush not far
lived a huge wild Chicken
they could reach it by car
So they all set off
their gas near diminished
was their last chance
after this they'd be finished!
They happened across one
grazing on a root
Father grabbed the rifle
made ready to shoot
As his trigger finger was ready to twitch
A bearded character yelled
"Leave those EMUS ALONE
you Son of B..."
Well needless to say
the Ranger called the local Sarge
They were all bundled up
Carted off to face the charge
Emu's are protected
twas a serious offense
Made no difference the hardship
their story made no sense!
Well as it turned out,
not everyone's a meanie
Coz the Warden himself
was no great greanie
Last I heard, they were all doing well
as they munched on their Turkey
In that measly grey Cell!
Every Cloud has a silver lining
there is still lots of Goodwill
But leave the EMU"S alone
it's not worth the drill!
