I watch you smoke your cigarettes
wishing
with some part of me
that I could be inhaled by you
so easily.
I'd love to blacken you lungs
with my drug.
I'd love to make you need me.
I'd love to have you breathe me
in.
That double-fate of friend and foe, pleasure and pain, bait and snare. The paradox of life and it's many strange and sad twists. Another great poem. Wish I understood the more specific allusions.
