a poem about how hard it is to get poetry published

HOORAY!

For writing about writing I have the tools,

But it's very hard to follow the rules.

Like when I'm suddenly moved to write,

Nocturnal inspiration sounds too trite.

And if you don’t wish to seem obtuse,

You don't admit a visit by the muse.

Or infer that you've had writer’s block,

Which made your head feel like a  rock.

Toss out the words that you once knew,

That sounded good and rang so true .

Just give the editor a thing so rare,

That he will rise up off the chair.

To jump right up and shout hooray,

I've found a thing for which I'll PAY.

You, Rosalie, are a huge treat! I'm always drawn in by the 'humor' category (write a bit meself.. hehe) Once again, I find something of yours that should be required reading for all of us. Just cool! (grin) katy xox.
