Love Came Down

Standing on her mountain high

Smiling down at those below her

Blonde hair blowing in the wind

Knew what she was there for.

Peaceful beauty drew them to her

Warming hearts that had grown cold

Prime ministers stopped, looking up

Business leaders dropped their gold.

No passive spirit did she possess

Power she drew up from the earth

Like rage it wasn’t, and yet it was

And love to all and violent rebirth.

Her mountain shook beneath her feet

Blue eyes blazing, warm as the sun

Melting guns and banks like wax

National boundaries came undone.

Love, like a raging river flowed down

Enemies smiled, cold hearts on fire

Lamb and the lion walked in stride

Enoughness, was the earth’s desire.

A sigh escaped from her parted lips

Her wild and raging love untamed

Reigning down upon the earth

Her love affair left unexplained.
