My Dimmed Soul

What is this silence that I hear

Moving in and out between you and me

Sparks of light, dark shades of black

Following me from within my soul.

Intensity of nothingness forms

Gathering dust around my life-less-ness

No GOD! to hear my inner prayer

Colorful canvas now covered in black-and blue.

Fallen brush balanced and burning

Upon my dried paint-splattered palette

Listening for a miracle of colors

Seeing only swirling desperate silence.

And you

         following me

                  from within

                           my dimmed soul.

Dayvid,
this vividly written poem touches me. Silence can be such torture. But among that silence so much can always be heard.

Welcome back, my friend,
Amber
