gracefully you take me into the aging of our life course
and also with the tenderness of love Gene I feel some sorrow
but still content with acceptance of the here and now
as always your beautiful soul speaks clearly

Totally adorable. "late autumn" has the warming comfort of a lingering, youthful light that immortalises its tumbling leaves, Gene, twirling to the strains of "je ne regrette rien". Each one smiles and hums contentedly. Beautiful work as always, xx
Gene, "late autumn", your five published haiku are like a favorite pair of slippers. Each one permitting me to slip comfortably into the scenario you poetically describe and know I have experienced it myself. The "late autumn" of life offers us the many advantages of experience. With a little time left to savor what we have come to realize are the important gifts of life. Love, family, friends, nature and an occasional gull to share our fantasies with. To sip and savor another sunrise, another sunset. Can the blessings possibly come more bountiful? I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

As George says, all are a delight to read but I have a favourite, I can't help it -
in clouds of dust
watching wreckers raze a buliding
the same age I am
oh God, how that speaks to me!
