I  heard the little bird say so.
      - Jonathan Swift, Letter to Stella

DEY NEVA NAME DAIR SOURCE!

I hoird it learned it from a fella
Who hoid it on da news
Da ruma from da streets
On second avenue

But dats not where it started
It rumbled in da Bronx
Den washed ova the village
From fellas sporting ankhs

They told the fashionistas
Who gossiped by the models
Who told the makeup artists
Who chewed gum with a waddle

And then they told the waiters
Who smiled for their tips
Who told it to the cooks
With greasy fingertips

They spread it thru da kitchens
Then to health inspector
Who told it to the big shots
Who came for kick back nector

And then they all went searching
To loin if it was true
They called the FBI
And gave them all the news

They called the TV stations
Backed by the police force
And tho they claim free speech

Dey NEVA name their source

I KNOW NOTHING!
 But birds of a feather.....etc

Muuhaahaaa

Why is bird poop white?

Unlike mammals, birds don't urinate. Their kidneys extract nitrogenous wastes from the bloodstream, but instead of excreting it as urea dissolved in urine as we do, they excrete it in the form of uric acid. Uric acid has a very low solubility in water, so it emerges as a white paste. This material, as well as the output of the intestines, emerges from the bird's cloaca. The cloaca is a multi-purpose hole for birds: their wastes come out of it, they have sex by putting their cloacas together, and females lay eggs out of it.

this made me laugh. It is creative, humorous and sharply contemporary. Your use of dialect and slang was an added plus. Also, the added biological info on bird anatomy was a pefect garnish...hehehehehe.

Thank you for the bird poop information, I would have been less a man had I died not know that. As for as the poem, our government is beseiged with tattlers and it is not all in good fun . . .

A most interesting poem, 'Good' Queen A Pax. And the educational tidbit about birds is fascinating. I love learning new things every day.

Did you know that cookie ogres don't urinate either? They drool. But I'm not sure about half human - half ogres!

I really love the way you presented this and the slang was the extra umph to get it across...pure genuis and I would've never learned as much about pigions had this pen not afforded that chance.

Ya gotta love it!!

Though I tend to be a curious person, by nature, I do believe I could have gone a lifetime without ever learning about cloacas and been none the worse for it!! LOL The one thing you didn't explain, that I have always been very curious about is how birds know when a car has just been washed and exactly what their facination is with crapping all over it? Funny stuff, Anita!
Take care,
Sherry

Cute write but a lot of truth in it, should always doubt someone who offers second hand info without being prepared to say where it came from. Also thanks for the informative poop on birf poop. Learned something new today already.
