~ True Smiles ~

Strolling down a side street,
admiring flowers in front yards.
Enjoying varieties foreign to me.
Wishing for one of each.
~
Gardens in perfect disarray.
Fragrances appeasing my senses,
summons forth a tender feeling.
A vision to gladden my heart.
~
And I smile a true smile.

A private walk through wilderness.
Nourished in my solitude.
Nature's offerings replaces
fragmented pieces of life.
~
Providing audience approval,
standing on the edge of cool waters.
Fragile fawn’s delicate pink tongue,
quenches in complete silence.
~
And I smile a true smile.

Sunday morning run in Central Park,
rejuvenating God given components.
Mans best friend anxiously awaits.
Hairy, happy faces illuminate joy.
~
Obvious jubilance of masters interaction.
Eyes wide in eager anticipation.
Cheer lends itself to excitement.
Displayed in canine’s genuine elation.
~
And I smile a true smile.
