Soft music in my ears, Jazz piano playing just the right tune. Sad lyrics fill a dim, smoky room, A trombone wails a long, slow moan. Reaching into the pit of my stomach, As a double scotch hits home, Taking me to a place, Where the deep blue’s see.
Those deep down blues, When only a bottle of Glenlivet will do. Forego the rocks, make it "neat". Numb the shock of reality sneaking in. Get drunk as hell, look it straight in the face, And wail like that trombone. There’s no escaping, When the deep blue’s see.
Hide from the truth like an ostrich, Head buried deep in the sand, Hidden in plain sight, Eyes closed and pretending. My heart won’t be lied to, indefinitely... There's no defying or denying, When the deep blue’s see…
Being in full agreement w/previous comments... only adding that you did as well with the visual as you did with conceptual: this poem is as beautiful to see as it is to read and ponder.

The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
