~ The Koffee Klatch ~
Four cups of coffee set on the table,
A spoon along side each one.
Four little napkins folded in half,
A basket of fresh baked buns.
Four housewives gather, a morning or two,
Kids shuffled off to their bus.
To catch-up on gossip, exchange cooking tips,
Fresh coffee and pastries a must.
Many a secret, told in between sips,
Of coffee, laughter and tears.
Over clean oilcloth and pastry d’jour,
A tradition withstanding for years.
Four cups of coffee, set on the table,
The backdoor stands unlatched.
The brigade begins to enter the kitchen,
It’s time for the "Koffee Klatch".
