~ Yesterplace ~
The constant buzz of snoring, strangers sleeping face to face, A shelter housing homeless, from winters brutal pace. Drowning muffled voices, mumbling to oneself in prayer, Wondering how we all got here, when we once lived out there.
Loved ones are somewhere out there, just where, I can’t say, Lost with fame and fortune, in another yesterday. Yesteryear’s successful man, vanished in thin air, Falling deeper into poverty, falling deeper in despair.
Everything familiar, growing further from my grasp. Watching my life crumble, tumbling down a desperate path. Memories revisited, eyes closed in my disgrace, Inside a darkened shelter, where I dream of Yesterplace.
