~ Fading White ~
A half of me, a half of you, are brothers.
Your long hair is black, while I am fair.
Different, yet our love could be no stronger,
Should our Fathers be but one, for us to share.
~
Tots to teens, to full grown men together,
When life was full of mischief, yours and mine
Secrets only brothers tell to brothers, told to me.
Ne’er difference stay between us for a time.
~
A half of you, but not of me, felt longing,
For a people, who are not a part of me.
Black Hills beckoned, moaned your name,
To go…to know…to shine…to be…
~
There, is where you found a new heart beating ,
Relinquishing the half of you that's light.
The half of me, that’s half of you, forgotten,
As a puff of smoke exhaled...to fading white.
