~ Charlotte and Charlie ~

How will I tell you, what I have to say.
The weight of my burden, gains strength everyday.
My broken heart knows, you’ll go on just fine,
But where are the words, when there’s so little time.

Each daybreak I pray, for a moment to come,
When I find soft phrases, to ease your pain, Hon…
I never imagined, I’d leave you behind,
It’s out of my hands now, this choice isn’t mine.

I’m seeking some way, to soften the blow,
Of a new world without me, when it’s my time to go.
Forgive me dear Charlie, should I fail as a wife,
To utter those words, tumbling, crumbling your life.

The words I can’t find, written down here for you,
I’m gone now, no reason for hiding old truths.
Our life was so happy, I just couldn’t say,
Those words bringing sadness, to one single day.

Bonnie, I agree wih Kate. This is so very poignantly sad, and well written to tell a story of leaving, on wings of angels, to be Charlie's guradian angel. It is sad when one leaves the other; either in divorce, separation, sickness, or death. Thnx for sharing sis. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my herat, stubborn to a fault, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little terrifeid sister, Barbie

What a bittersweet "Goodbye" note: this is beautifully and touchingly told, Bonnie, and, although difficult for us to express such things in dire circumstances, it must be of great comfort for those "left behind". Hard to swallow, but ultimately healing and soothing. TY Kate xx PS Thank you for your recent comments on Sweet Intoxication; the whole poem was a metaphor about my relationship with a bottle of good wine! :)) xx

This poem is a heartbreaker, though beautifully written.
I hope it's fiction , Bonnie...
