Dragon... Fly

~   Dragon… Fly   ~


Take flight fiery dragon, fore you vanish from sight,
Massive leather wings flap slowly… gaining speed.
Rapidly soaring o’er land and sea, screeching terror,
Prey, confused in frenzied searching for safety.
Fly Dragon… Fly


Dragon, scorching its path through wilderness,
Dark shadows growing larger from above.
Fire breathing nostrils, painting patches of soot,
Red eyes keen in search of movement.
Fly Dragon… fly


Sharp claws grasp the kill, so too comes the earth,
A small kill, unworthy of such a master.
Opportunities be taken, hungers the belly of a dragon,
Insufficient to satisfy, too enormous an appetite.
Fly… Dragon Fly

I like your word choice because it actually gives the poem the feeling of lightness and flight, not weighted down by heavy words. I really like the leather wings.
