There's no place like the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Especially in the fall. It's a spectacular show of colors. Summer will introduce you to shades of green, you didn't know existed. Growing, but still old world in the Dutch Country. It's not very exciting, but it certainly is quaint and beautiful. Good struddle too!

Poem Artwork

~ My Pennsylvania ~

The rolling hills in Pennsylvania,
With their summer shades of green.
Clustered color, upon color,
White church steeples, tucked between.

The Amish riding buggies,
A pleasant, ordinary, sight.
clip-clopping into their secret world,
Lanterns glowing in the night.

New Spring in Pennsylvania,
Forever changing, every year,
Wild flowers, hay and new born calfs,
Announcing Spring is here.

Winter blows its icy chill,
In a wonderland of snow.
Children love to see it coming,
Parents love to see it go!

But Fall, oh Fall, a glorious time,
God chose this place to show,
His colorful leaves, floating and flying,
Doing a dance, only fall leaves know.

Traveling places, here and there,
Makes no matter, where I stray.
My heart will always wander,
Back to the hills of my PA.

I am really quite sorry it took me so long to find your writes, Bonnie, but now you are on my tracker list. Not that does any good as I cannot get any of those I already track but what the hey, I will keep looking for your writes on the main page. I live but 60 or so miles from the Pa Dutch country and have been down many a side road there, exploring all the little roadside stands, looking for good deals and places to relax...I think I wrote a poem about finding peace in the amish country, if you can find it, check it out on my site...A very beautiful and friendly place it is, Blue Ball, Intercourse and points west and east on both Route 30 and the other road that paralels it just to the north, but I can't remember the number or name...anyway, Hope you find Peace thru the Write, Ed & Rufuz

Nicely done! That's the way I feel about some of the country where I live. I shop in the city but sure would not like to live there. Here in the country I am surrounded by many beautiful lakes and mountains to the west and it's beautiful year round.

The Penn hills in the fall, spring or summer are exquisite. Thanks for taking me there to see it again. Been a long time. You've done it proud.

Love this! PA is my birthplace, I was young when we moved away but I remember well the rolling hills and my trip to Gettysburg.
