Poem Artwork

My heart fills to overflowing,
With the Wanderlust of me.
For places I've not been to.
For places not yet seen.

Indeed, I've dream't of foreign shores,
And lands beneath the sea.
Oh Wanderlust, Sweet Wanderlust,
I must now follow thee.

Across the sands of magic lands,
My wondrous heart shall roam.
My eyes shall witness glory,
In the wonders I've been shown.

Atop the mountains, fragrant mists,
As none I've known before,
Oh Wanderlust, Sweet Wanderlust,
I stand at heavens door.

Oh Wanderlust we've traveled,
Through green fields of virgin grass.
My footsteps first to tread there,
Seeking life by my own path.

Oh Wanderlust my hunger grows,
For still another place.
Not of this world, nor of this time,
But...in a higher space.

Oh Wanderlust, my trusted friend,
I go alone this time.
My call to seek... inside of self,
Defies all else in mind.

Blessed be the magic,
On this journey of intent.
Oh Wonderlust, Sweet Wonderlust,
Bequeath thee wonderment.

I know well the word and the feelings associated therein...as when I sold my home at the NJ shore, I bought and traveled, only on the east coast so far, no further west than Missouri, in a 34 foot motorhome with my Jeep attached...what a wonderful poem this is, Bonnie, it makes my gypsy feet start tapping and wanting to be back on the road,
someday...Peace thru Dreams, Ed & Rufuz

Another 'Bullseye'. I've always been a wanderer by nature.

Just a wild guess but, do you count Dr. Seuss as one of your influences?
This is terrific! And it reminds me of ol' Geisil's "Oh The Places You Can Go."

This was wonderful!!
