The Letter
My life has come full circle; a new chapter has begun,
The letter I have dream't of has arrived.
I've waited an eternity, for this white envelope,
To find me waiting here... for you to write.
Dearest daughter, how I've longed, to hold you in my arms,
From the instant you were born... I'm longing still.
I hold in trust a guarded space, inside this heart of mine,
A guarded space, that you alone can fill.
So much time has passed my dear, in this long search for you,
Counting all your birthdays... all the years.
Quiet moments filled my mind, with faces I'd imagine,
Through stages of your life...and through my tears.
Now at last the time has come, the time of you and I,
To fill those vacant places, we both know...
The letter is the first page, in this chapter of our lives,
In a book we'll write together, as we go.
